Exciting things are happening at Sherman Carter Barnhart Architects, and we wanted to share the news with you. We continue to grow our business in Louisville and as a result, Architect Donna Farmer, AIA has moved to our Louisville office. Donna is a graduate of UK’s College of Design and is a registered architect. She focuses exclusively on educational facilities and offers 24 years of experience providing programming, design, project management, as well as the management of contract document preparation for numerous P-12 schools throughout Kentucky.
As a project manager for Sherman Carter Barnhart, Donna utilizes her creative skills in the design of 21st Century schools throughout Kentucky. Her experience includes numerous school renovation projects, the Zero Ready Irvington and Hardinsburg Elementary schools in Breckinridge County, as well as career and college readiness centers for Meade, Breckinridge and Taylor County Schools. She will focus her attention on continuing to grow our presence in the K-12 market.
Donna brings a wealth of experience to her job every day. Here’s an excerpt from her biography on our website:
“Donna grew up traveling the world, which fostered her interest in various types of architecture. She has always been fascinated with the form of architecture, as well as the creative application of interior finishes. While studying architecture at the University of Kentucky she served as an artisan apprentice applying interior architectural surface treatments ranging from Venetian ornamentation to reverse glass painting. She also received a research grant from the Kentucky Heritage Council to document the condition of the remaining covered bridges in Kentucky which resulted in a restoration grant.”
