The Louisville Metro Housing Authority and the City of Louisville will break ground Friday, March 29, on Phase I of the Beecher Terrace Revitalization. Phase I includes a single, four-story building with 117 units designed specifically for seniors.
As part of a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
Choice Neighborhoods Initiative Implementation Grant, the new Beecher Terrace will be transformed into a sustainable, walkable, and amenity-rich community. When complete it will offer over 600 units of affordable housing. The buildings reflect the character of nearby neighborhoods while maintaining their heritage and identity.
The entire redevelopment is pursuing U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and USGBC Kentucky LEED for Neighborhood Development (LEED ND) and Enterprise Green Community certification.
