The project connected the Thomas & Hazel Little Building to both the Crabbe Library (1924) and the University Building (1874), the oldest building on campus. One connection is a sky lit, second-floor atrium, used as an extended-hours study area.
Thomas & Hazel Little Building includes:
- General stacks
- Information & circulation desks
- Law Library
- Special Collections and Archives
- Learning Resources Center
- Created a rejuvenated and revitalized pedestrian-friendly urban space.
Incorporating the University Building with the addition resolved the need for additional program space, and minimized the additions footprint. The program included:
- Restoration and Renovation of this 56,000 sf historical building
- The Historically accurate exterior restoration
- New Library space
- New Classroom space
